Parents:  Our goal is to create fluent readers.  Please listen to your child read orally so that they can increase their fluency.  Of course they can read independently also.  They need lots of practice to meet the fluency goal for second grade.  It is the critical reading skill. 

Remember:  Doughnuts for all those who meet their AR goals!
 

Homework policy
One of the pieces of the puzzle to success is completing homework nightly.
Students have a spelling contract for the nine weeks.  It is kept in their homework folder.  Spelling should be written in the composition book that is provided.
Students are expected to read at least 15 minutes nightly.  Please sign the reading log in their homework folder.
Students should bring home their math workbook or a math sheet each night.
